Kerala Coconut Fish Curry

Ingredients

  • 600g firm white fish, cut into chunks
  • 400ml coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 green chiles, slit

Preparation

  1. Heat the coconut oil and crackle the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chiles; fry for one minute.
  3. Stir in the turmeric, then pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Slide in the fish and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until just cooked.
  5. Season with salt and serve with steamed rice.
